Join our innovative Hybrid Powertrain Team as a Senior Test Technician and play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable propulsion. You’ll be part of a hands-on team building and supporting testing for our next-generation hybrid system.
This is a unique opportunity, supporting everything from facility setup to full system testing. You’ll collaborate with passionate engineers and technicians, contribute to high-performance builds, and help bring advanced concepts to life. What you'll do?
Support facility setup by receiving hardware, organizing tools and equipment, and establishing test bays for prototype rig work.
Build and assemble prototype test rig, including mechanical sub-systems, electrical harnesses, and control panels.
Modify and fault-find electrical systems and harnesses to support evolving test requirements, using crimping, soldering, and diagnostic tools.
Assist in the execution of test campaigns, working closely with engineers to run tests, troubleshoot, and capture data.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment, applying best practices in FOD prevention, tool control, and lab discipline.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and test teams, sharing insights and feedback to improve design, build, and test efficiency.
Document your work meticulously, ensuring accurate records of system builds, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Adapt to changing project demands with a flexible, hands-on approach—willing to step in wherever support is needed across the team.
What you'll bring
Strong experience building prototype test rigs and associated sub-systems, ideally in automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Proven ability to build, modify, and fault-find electrical harnesses and control panels.
Solid understanding of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, safety practices, and HV test protocols.
Experience with Dynos, inverters, motors, and hybrid/electric drive systems highly desirable.
Comfortable working in a flexible, hands-on role supporting a test lab environment
High attention to detail, organized, and committed to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to work predominantly onsite.
