Zoox is seeking a Test Engineer to design and develop test solutions for the compute platform powering our autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will create and implement tests for key components of our compute system, including server-grade computer assemblies, custom PCIe devices, and PC components such as storage and memory. You’ll collaborate closely with our electrical engineering and software teams to develop and validate new products and technologies.
We’re looking for an engineer who is curious, enthusiastic, and eager to explore new technologies. The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet critical deadlines is highly valued.

In this role you will:
Build and release test solutions for use on the manufacturing lines at Zoox and at contract manufacturing partnersDevelop testing scripts and code to verify functionality, control test instruments, capture test parameters, and analyze results for continuous improvementWork cross-functionally to implement the correct test coverage across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle)Release updated test programs for new generations of hardware and softwareSupport the test and validation of prototype designsEstablish best practices and drive continuous improvement for improving test deployment, test runtime, and yieldQualifications
BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree8+ years of industry experience or equivalentKnowledge of manufacturing and testing electronic assembliesExperience in testing of complex electronic assemblies, such as server-grade computers and sub-assembliesExperience with manufacturing tests of PCIe devices such as GPUs, network cards, and NVMe drivesStrong knowledge of Python and shell (bash) scripting. Experience with other programming languages, such as C++ or C#, is beneficialExperience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools Bonus Qualifications
