Senior Systems Engineer - EWIS

Your role and your team:

This position will report to our EWIS Manager into the Head of Electronic & Electrical Engineering and will actively contribute to the EWIS development. The EWIS Senior System Engineer is part of an integrated cross functional team that drives architecture definition, design, verification and certification up to the delivery of the Lilium Jet.

As an EWIS Senior System Engineer you will be part of an interdisciplinary IPT (Integrated Project Team) responsible for supporting all EWIS project aspects along with other departments and system design teams of our Lilium Jet from prototype until serial production.

We are looking to reinforce our EWIS team with a senior level professional, able to cover all EWIS fields from physical to functional design with consideration of safety, certification and manufacturing issues. This key function in our organisation will act as the link between the different EWIS design domains and cross functional teams that drive transversal activities such as product quality management, cost engineering and supplier monitoring.

You will have a chance in shaping the future of mobility by not only defining the EWIS, but also developing components and co-ordination with regulatory partners/suppliers.

You will take responsibility for the development of subsystems and components and ensure their compliance to certification and safety standards.

Building upon your expertise you'll play a key role in bringing our innovative aircraft to life.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Support EWIS technical strategy, decisions, architecture, safety, certification, and production.
• Support EWIS project and team management, coordination and reporting within the IPT and the team.
• Support planning and risks activities, participate to ensure on time delivery of all tasks/projects undertaken.
• Supplier monitoring activities and coordination’s of different stakeholders.
• Prepare and continuously improve processes, methods, guidance´s and tools for the EWIS project.
• Develop, challenge and continuously improve system’s design and item’s technical concepts.
• Define requirements for subsystems and components.
• Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects provided by management.
• Conduct design and project reviews to confirm EWIS compliance with regards to t the Type Certificate approval.

Your Profile:  

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of Aerospace experience, with a good Knowledge of DOA Part 21J environment.
• Minimum 5 years of Aircraft EWIS experience in a key role/function.
• Strong knowledge on CS-25 subpart H approach from end to end plus EWIS Electrical Standards such as AC43.13-1B.
• Knowledge of ARP4754 guidelines as well as safety and certification processes such as AC 25.1701-1, AMC 20-23.
• Experience on Electrical Systems, Avionics Systems, Grounding and Bonding, or similar domain is necessary as well as technical, project coordination or quality experience.
• Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), and DO160 awareness highly appreciated.
• Basic knowledge of PDM/PLM and EWIS design CAD software’s is beneficial.
• Experience of working with various suppliers and managing deliverables is required.
• Strong motivation to help build structures, methods and processes.
• High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
• Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required.
• Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment is required.
• Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
