The IT Platform Operations team owns Zoox’ on-prem data center operations, hardware design, and validation. The team is expanding to encompass overseeing IT Technical Operations for our active robot fleet. As the Senior/Staff Technical Operations Engineer, you work closely with multiple operations teams to successfully support our robot missions. Your initial responsibilities will include discovery and documentation of workflows and dependencies. Your real-time operations experience will be integral in ensuring the stability and success of our live robot missions.
You have an excellent understanding of critical real-time operations and technical acumen. You can work through complex problems requiring real-time troubleshooting during live mission operations. You have experience with Linux (preferably Ubuntu), networking, and cloud computing concepts. You can work with diverse technical teams collaboratively. You will contribute to the discovery and optimization of real-time technical operations processes.

Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $133,000 to $193,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

15+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of real-time operations experience. BS / MS in Information Technology or equivalent experience.Proven track record of working successfully in critical real-time operations, e.g. life-safety, financial, transportation, etcFull-stack knowledge: Understanding of the concepts of production KT environments and end-to-end service delivery.Experience with Linux systems administration, preferably UbuntuDemonstrable knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting: OSI model, TCP/IP, DMZExposure to operating production environments in AWSFamiliarity with real-time monitoring solutions and concepts.Exposure to EKS is beneficial
