Senior Director, Software QA

What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is hiring a Leader of Embedded Software QA to own and direct Embedded Software QA automation for ChargePoint’s array of charging stations and their integration with ChargePoint Cloud. Additionally, you will own software validation on charging platforms and partner with internal/external stakeholders for vehicle interoperability testing across our various charging stations.

Responsibilities 

• Hire, mentor, and motivate a team of world class software QA engineers
• Introduce and implement industry QA best practices to the teams and contribute to improving the team’s overall functional craft
• Plan, scope, and manage the creation of automation frameworks, test plans, test cases, and other QA documentation
• Roll up your sleeves to perform troubleshooting and hands-on testing as needed
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand support/field issues and drive solutions
• File and track bugs from opening to closure after verification
• Create Reports on defects and manage follow-through as necessary to complete the testing cycle
• Provide timely status updates to ChargePoint leadership and manage the team in making decisions about automation milestones, framework changes, and software release-readiness

Requirements

• 10+ years of QA experience with 3+ years in a management capacity
• Preferred experience in managing QA leads or managers
• Strong team building and empowerment skills
• Experience with Agile development processes, including experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence and Jira)
• Ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders and to build relationships at all levels of the organization
• Comfortable as a “hands-on” manager and willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgement 
• Experienced in management of lab and automation bench resources

Technical Skills

• Linux & Python skills in the Embedded domain

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $115,000 to $203,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
