Position: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Remote (US) 

As a site reliability engineer, you will work between development and operation teams. Reporting to the Sr Infrastructure Manager.  A lot of this role revolves around writing and developing code to automate processes, such as building cloud infrastructure with code, cloud security, analyzing logs, testing production environments, and responding to any issues. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across several research groups providing solutions spanning genomics, bioinformatics, laboratory, greenhouse, field trials, UAV and GIS.

Responsibilities: 

• Member of Pivot Bio’s cloud ops team, helping to define process and governance as Pivot cloud usage grows 
• Migrate Pivot Bio from a legacy cloud account to management and members accounts using code to complete all the infrastructure buildout 
• Use various automation tools as they are responsible for building and integrating software tools to enhance an organizational system’s reliability and scalability 
• Work closely with developers, especially when issues arise to help with troubleshooting and provide consultation when alerts are issued 
• Following the incident resolution, revisit the issue and determine the cause to find any enhancements that can be made to our environment or automation to prevent repeat incidents 

Qualifications and Experience: 

• 6+ years of experience cloud infrastructure, CICD pipelines, and CloudOps/DevOps experience 
• 13+ years of experience IT Operations experience 
• Advance knowledge of Python 
• Advance knowledge of Lambda 
• Experience in GitOps 
• Experience building secure and well architecture cloud environments in AWS & Azure 
• Terraform/CloudFormation 
• Kubernetes 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Well-organized and strong attention to detail
