Senior Simulation Engineer

The responsibilities and duties of a Senior Simulation Engineer will be as follows:

• Capture and manage simulation requirements to meet the needs of multiple inter-disciplinary teams
• Work with external suppliers to develop and integrate hardware and software solutions
• Develop and maintain aircraft simulation models of varying levels of fidelity and complexity
• Create and maintain hardware-in-the-loop testing environments
• Support and facilitate simulated aircraft handling qualities assessments and flight test training activities

The successful Senior Simulation Engineer will have the following Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or related field
• Substantial knowledge of flight simulation, associated simulation technologies (networks, visual model creation etc.), and their implementation in MATLAB SIMULINK, C/C++ or other simulation software codes and tools.
• Ability to apply your knowledge to building a cutting-edge simulation environment
• Experience of working in inter-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
• Effective technical writing and presentation skills and an ability to clearly communicate conclusions from large and complex datasets
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a small, motivated team

Highly Desirable:

• Experience working with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol and the High Level Architecture (HLA) standard
• Experience of working with the Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI) standard
• Knowledge of applicable simulation certification specifications (FSTD(H), and/or FSTD(A))
• Experience of using simulation to generate data in support of certification activities
• Knowledge of system identification methodology and its application to building mathematical models of dynamic systems
• Experience working with novel aircraft configurations and/or aircraft which undergo transition
• Chartered Engineer status
