Senior Regulatory Engineer

What You Will Be Doing

As a member of an international team of experts, you will work with EU, US, and UK based design teams to guide the regulatory aspects of the design, test, and certification of ChargePoint’s next generation AC and DC electric vehicle charging equipment with an emphasis on ChargePoint’s integrated revenue metering solutions.  Integrated metering enables ChargePoint to achieve a high level of hardware and software integration in a custom designed platform, resulting in best-in-class EVSE products suitable for a worldwide market.

• Inform product design, test, and certification teams of AC and DC safety, EMC, MID/Eichrecht requirements originating from relevant standards as applicable and create supporting documentation, design guidelines, and test plans.
• Understanding of International standards covering electric vehicle charging equipment such as IEC 61851-1, -22, -23, IEC 62196, IEC 61008, IEC 61439, AR2418, IEC 62052-11, EN55032, EN55025, EN50470, IEC62368, and related.

• Participate in the creation of test plans to validate that metering designs meet the requirements and build confidence for successful 3^rd party certification on the first iteration.
• Perform metrology tests & support prototype debugging
• Obtain MID and Eichrecht certifications working directly with labs such as NMI, CSA, VDE, and others.
• Participate as needed in standards development and meetings for metrology related standards.
• Support Manufacturing in meeting their obligations for production line testing, quality, labeling, and record keeping as it pertains to metrology certifications. 

Provide technical support to set up laboratory equipment and test racks to carry out required testing

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Fluency in English language, both written and verbal, mandatory, fluency in German is a plus, but not required.
• Experience in the design, test, and certification of electrical products to international standards using 3^rd party testing laboratories.
• Experience in Regulatory and Compliance Engineering such as Metrology, EMC, Safety testing and certification.
• Self-directed and self-motivated

Requirements

• BS/MS in Physics or Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
• 2-4 years related experience in Electrical & technical fields, with Regulatory Engineering experience in Electric Vehicle charging equipment
• Basic coding skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically as needed.
