Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on individual to help us develop our core technology by providing electrical and electronic solutions for design challenges posed during the development of our largest-scale experimental batteries. Reporting to the Manager, Test & Validation, you will work as a part of our Technical Operations’ team and coordinate directly with our Reactor Development and Systems Engineering teams to perform fabrication work for huge grid-scale batteries. The ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating and learning within a fast-paced environment and will feel comfortable independently designing, fabricating, and implementing custom built electrical solutions tailored to meet unique design challenges. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to sharpen their technical skills and lend their experience to directly impact the development of a breakthrough technology.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare, fabricate, and maintain our largest prototypes and test related infrastructure and safety systems as specified by designs & schematics
  • Design and then implement custom electrical harnesses for power and data around our test infrastructure
  • Document and organize device assembly notes for performance traceability
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Help build out a best-in-class electronics lab for rapid prototyping
  • Facilitate installation and assembly of new equipment
  • Lead workshop and laboratory continuous improvement efforts
  • Help train and mentor a growing team of technicians, engineers, and scientists
  • What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience working with electrical and electronic systems in an industrial or test and validation setting
  • Familiarity with electrical power systems, PLCs, cabling, control and data acquisition systems
  • Familiarity with organizing and maintaining component inventory
  • Written and oral communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization
  • Comfort using digital tools, such as Asana, Slack, Confluence, and GSuite
