ICON is looking for an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to support ICON’s In-Process and End of Line (EOL) production work streams. The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible to develop, implement and improve product and process quality control methods to ensure that manufacturing outputs consistently meet the design requirements of ICON’s 3D Printing Systems. This role will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and test teams to meet key quality objectives. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX factory and will report to the Lead Quality Engineer on ICON’s Manufacturing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for final quality acceptance of all manufactured assemblies and sub-systems.
  • Design and conduct in-process audits to verify production outputs meet design specifications and are maintained within acceptable quality limits.
  • Monitor and collect process data to create periodic reports to document production quality
  • KPIs relating to quantity Right First Time and number of Defects Per Unit (DPU/DPM).
  • Coordinate production defects with internal stakeholders to verify containment activities, determine disposition, and monitor closure of corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Actively support the creation, revision and execution of documented Work Instructions, Standardized Operating Procedures, and Quality System Processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve overall product quality and process efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience as a lead, supervisor or manager in a similar quality assurance role.
  • Ability to assess in-process production workflows and create control document procedures to support quality management systems requirements.
  • Demonstrated success designing quality plans that monitor key characteristics to prevent defects in the production of large scale electromechanical sub-systems.
  • Ability to investigate and determine root causes and corrective actions for part, sub-assembly, and system process defects identified during production.
  • Ability to influence others and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency creating reports using Microsoft Suite and Google doc, sheets and slides.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technology field.
  • Certified Quality Engineer or other relevant ASQ Quality Certification Credentials.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing quality PFMEA and Control Plan monitoring.
  • Experience in aerospace, military/defense, aircrafts, or automotive systems preferred.
  • Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment and passion to perform time-sensitive analysis under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
