Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to help us develop a world class manufacturing facility plan. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Capital Projects, you will provide multidisciplinary technical direction and project management from conception to completion. You will collaborate with all internal stakeholders, ensuring excellent stakeholder management in areas of Site Operations, and will be responsible for organizing and executing all activities associated with capital projects in a heavy industrial environment. Construction management and site selection support will also be a major focus, including due diligence management and vendor selection and management. This is an opportunity to be a key driver of Site Development projects which will take us from pilot scale to a growing manufacturing footprint.

What you'll do:
Collaborate with stakeholders to drive capital projects through to completion, overseeing scope, quality, schedule, and budget while also managing construction vendors and contractorsInterface with construction contractors during the bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phasesManage the request for proposals financial analysis of construction, conduct negotiations with contractors, and evaluate bids/proposalsConstructability reviews of mechanical and process designs associated with the construction of our Gigafactory and surrounding facilitiesConstruction document management including submittal review, RFI’s, change orders, and invoicingConstruction project quality control and development, conducting troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis associated with mechanical and process functional failuresRecord and report key construction metrics to team members and managementWhat you'll bring:
10+ years of experience in construction leadership of complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants. Manufacturing and industrial experience are highly preferred.Experience collaborating with key stakeholders and managing contractor and vendors associated with construction and project executionExperience with DRI Handling, material flow, logistics yard development, rail services and waterway transloadingWillingness to spend a percentage of time in the field to complete objectives Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and organization skillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent engineering science preferred
