About the company:

ICON develops advanced construction technologies that advance humanity. Using proprietary 3D printing robotics, software and advanced materials, ICON is shifting the paradigm of homebuilding on Earth and beyond. www.iconbuild.com / follow on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @ICON3DTech

ICON is re-imagining the approach to homebuilding and construction to make affordable, dignified housing available to everyone throughout the world. We’re crafting a new generation of end-to-end digital solutions for ICON partners, customers, prospects, and the general public.

ICON is seeking a flexible, multi-faceted, motivated UX designer to join our fast growing BuildOS team of developers, designers and technologists who are working together to transform the construction industry. As a Product Manager at ICON, you will work to accelerate and align our efforts across the globe and beyond. This role is a good fit for someone who is adept at navigating ambiguity and can quickly identify meaningful opportunities as we scale.

ICON is an early-stage company, with a highly collaborative environment. Our flexible work schedule and open office culture set us apart; to make that work we’re looking for a responsible, efficient, and seasoned product manager.

This role reports to the Director of BuildOS and is based in our Austin, TX lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with leadership, teams, and other key stakeholders across the company by staying up to date on company direction to connect the dots to BuildOS work.
  • Through effective communication and influence, secure cross-functional and leadership alignment on the product vision and roadmap.
  • You would function as an evangelist and spokesperson, meeting 1:1 with individuals and giving presentations to teams to explain our work and collect feedback.
  • Act as an internal training and documentation liaison to ensure there is an adequate understanding of the product.
  • Prioritize the work to accomplish our big objectives, and tracking progress in a way that is easily visible to all of ICON.
  • Work hand-in-hand with product design (UX, design, research, development)  to jointly develop vision, prioritize, and execute on strategy in the face of ambiguity and complexity.
  • Deliver value through successful management and execution of the product roadmap.
  • Build processes that will scale as we grow.
  • Set and execute a product backlog, balancing innovation, maintenance and support.
  • Customers very often need to collaborate with our engineers on active projects. You would be a liaison from our team, helping ensure our most important customer engagements are successful.
  • Test, validate and make adjustments and improvements to new features before they are ready for wider distribution. Decide on when features are “ready” to be deployed to customers and field teams.
  • Act as the decision maker at the deployment stage; successfully determine when and to what standard a feature should be deployed at.
  • Our software platform is the distribution channel that enables us to put our technology in the hands of the entire world. It is critical that we build the things the market needs and anticipate problem areas so we can deliver the best possible experience to customers as they use our technology.
  • Understand the user journey for all of the BuildOS products: operators, builders, homebuyers, and beyond.
  • Ability to innovate and own solutions by leveraging the creativity and talent of your teams.
  •  Implementing a team management style that focuses on making sure everyone understands the current priorities and has what they need to be effective.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technology related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in product development in the construction or robotics industry.
  • Expertise in management and dealing with problem-solving, decision making, time management, and leadership.
  • Experience in Agile workflow management.
  • A strong technical background and excel at analytical thinking.
  • Able to work from our office in Austin, TX.
