About the company:

Fluence is the leading global energy storage technology and services company, created and backed by Siemens and AES, two industry powerhouses and pioneers in energy storage. Fluence unites the scale, experience, breadth, and financial backing of the two most experienced icons in energy storage.

Our mission is to create a more sustainable future by transforming the way we power our world. Energy storage is critical to this transformation, yet today the market is fragmented and customers face the challenge of finding a trusted technology partner amidst conflicting technical claims, inexperienced vendors and installers, and new market entrants with limited power sector knowledge.

Fluence brings the proven technology solutions and services that overcome the commercial and regulatory barriers that stand in the way of modernizing our energy networks. We are the partner that can deliver at a global scale with the most experienced and knowledgeable team in the world.

Fluence is seeking a Senior Preventative Maintenance Manager to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our preventative maintenance strategy for our Regional Service group in the Americas. In this role, you will be responsible for building and leading a team committed to safety excellence, aiming to establish the safest team at Fluence. You will be responsible to direct and coordinate preventative maintenance teams to effectively implement project-specific maintenance plans, as well as develop and refine training programs to support the rapid growth of the preventative maintenance organization. You will actively identify and address inefficiencies within existing maintenance plans, implementing targeted improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
In addition, you will manage the associated costs, budgets, and schedules for your teams, ensuring that budgetary and scheduling targets are met without compromising safety or quality. Your expertise will play a crucial role in optimizing our preventative maintenance efforts and supporting the organization’s commitment to safety and operational excellence.

The Senior Preventative Maintenance Manager at Fluence will:

  • Oversee and assist in the development and refinement of preventative maintenance plans for all current and future projects in the Americas.
  • Direct the execution of preventative maintenance activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements to optimize effectiveness.
  • Ensure alignment of the preventative maintenance plan with service agreements across all Americas projects, reviewing and revising the plans as needed for full compliance.
  • Manage maintenance teams’ costs to maintain efficient operations, ensuring that preventative maintenance activities are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance teams’ performance, including status updates, opportunities, risks, and scheduling insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to address any concerns related to part quality, project reliability, or plant operations. When applicable, adjust the maintenance plan to proactively address these issues, adding value to project outcomes.
  • Develop, review, and update preventative maintenance forecasts with finance teams as needed.
  • The Ideal Candidates Will Possess or Have a Desire to Develop:

  • 10-12 years of experience in industrial engineering, construction, commissioning and/or services (preferably experience with battery storage systems).
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Other degrees considered if candidate possesses deep battery storage understanding.
  • Proven record of working autonomously.
  • Highly tuned drive to win and deliver excellence under tight timelines.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Track record of taking ownership over responsibilities and pursuing them diligently.
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 25% of time but potentially more initially.
