About the company:
Our Mission
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The Valo, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.
We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals. Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2028 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers.
As a Senior Powertrain Verification Engineer, you will join the Hybrid Powertrain team, playing a critical role in the verification and validation of our next-generation hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
Based primarily at Camwal Court / Kemble / Avonmouth, with regular engagement at Kemble, you will operate as a senior technical authority within the verification function. Reporting to the Hybrid Verification Manager, this is a senior individual contributor role offering high levels of autonomy, technical ownership, and programme influence.
A typical day could involve defining verification strategies with system owners, leading complex powertrain test campaigns, supporting flight-test operations through real-time telemetry monitoring, or providing technical leadership during integration and design reviews. Your ability to work confidently across test, design, and certification teams while making sound engineering decisions at pace will be key to your success.
