Senior PLM Solution Architect

You will be part of the DevOps Engineering Team and work closely with different teams in Lilium’s Design Organization, other global IT teams, and Production Organization. The DevOps Engineering Team owns end-to-end responsibility for sourcing, integrating, and deploying applications & solutions required by Lilium’s engineers to develop our aircraft. Of course, product design and product lifecycle management is a core activity, and the DevOps Engineering-Team provides the environment for this: Deployment, customization & operation of industry proven PLM solutions as well as the integration of a variety of upstream and downstream tools into our solution for product lifecycle management (PLM) are our core deliverables & services in Lilium.

You will be responsible for the solution definition, implementation and sustaining of our PLM platform (Siemens Teamcenter) from the functional level to the infrastructure layer, in the current scenario and in the future architecture. Your Role :

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of PLM solutions using Siemens Teamcenter, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • End-to-End Vision: Develop and maintain an end-to-end vision of PLM processes, focusing on integration with upstream and downstream applications such as ERP, program management tools, CAD, and other satellite applications surrounding the PLM environment.
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of PLM with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CAD) to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency.
  • Data Management: Ensure robust data management practices, including data privacy and export control compliance, to safeguard sensitive and classified information.
  • Optimization and Maintenance: Continuously monitor and optimize the PLM environment for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Future Roadmap: Define the technology roadmap for PLM, incorporating emerging technologies and industry trends to future-proof the solution.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business units, to understand requirements and deliver effective PLM solutions.
  • Supplier Management: Manage and interact with suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions and services.
  • Business Collaboration: Collaborate with various business areas to align PLM capabilities with business needs and objectives.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage PLM projects using Classic and Agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Your Experience:   

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Equivalent Degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in PLM solutions, with at least 5 years focused on Siemens Teamcenter in aerospace industry. Experience with Teamcenter-SaaS (TC X) is a plus.
  • Sustaining Operations: Proven ability to manage and support ongoing operation and maintenance of PLM solutions, ensuring their continuous performance and availability.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of PLM architecture, system integration, data management, and regulatory compliance in the aerospace sector.
  • End-to-End Vision: Strong understanding of the integration of PLM with upstream and downstream applications such as ERP, program management tools, CAD, and other satellite applications.
  • Supplier Management: Proven experience in managing and interacting with suppliers.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience in project management using Agile tools and techniques.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
  • Versatility: Ability to enjoy working in a fast-paced, agile environment that requires resilience to change and self-management but offers multiple directions for growth.
  • Language: Fluent in English, German is a plus
