Senior People Business Partner

About the company:

Hi. We're Impossible Foods, and we make meat, dairy and fish from plants. Our mission is to make the global food system truly sustainable by eliminating the need to make food from animals. Why? Animal agriculture uses a tremendous amount of the world's natural resources. In 2016, we launched our first product, the Impossible™ Burger. It's delicious, nutritious, and made using but a small fraction of the land, water and energy required to make meat from a cow.

Our Senior People Business Partner will support and serve as talent strategists for the Sales, General Business Operations, and HR Organizations.  This leader will collaborate within HR to envision, inform and execute the people strategy for Impossible Foods.  In this role, you will engage with and advise leadership on their people practices and be a key contributor to building people initiatives, policies, procedures and programs to scale the company to achieve our mission while creating a new company ethos -- one where kindness, inclusion, accountability, and curiosity serve as our foundation.

You will:

  • Provide strategic partnership and counsel to leaders across several functional groups on all things people-related.
  • Build and implement creative and progressive talent strategies tailored to your client groups, addressing engagement, retention and career needs.
  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes.
  • Support teams through all People processes including compensation, talent development, performance management, employee relations, and organizational design.

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform key business and talent decisions.
  • Collaborate with People team partners (Recruiting, Total Rewards, People Operations & Analytics, Learning & Development, etc.) to inform the design and implementation of programs and initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management and senior leaders (e. g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Provides guidance and input on organizational design, workforce planning and succession planning.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 8+ years work experience in HR and/or Management Consulting as a client-facing HR professional, with a minimum of 2 years as an HR Business Partner role
  • Alignment and commitment to our culture, which prioritizes leading with heart, standing up for what's right and thinking like a scientist.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth company with experience and a vision to create practices and programs that will scale
  • Ability to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal savvy
  • Comfort and confidence interacting and building credibility with leadership including executives across an organization
  • Consulting/influencing skills
  • Project management and change management skills
  • Strong business savvy and ability to pivot quickly and handle ambiguity
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Unwavering ethical standards with impeccable discretion and integrity when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Experience driving People programs and processes in a client group
  • Strong working knowledge of local, state and federal employment regulations/laws/statutes
  • Excitement to jump from tactical to strategic with humility.
  • A passion for people and organizational issues; motivated by a desire to foster the development of others and contribute to an inspiring, positive workplace
  • A sense of humor! We like to have fun, and enjoy not only what we do but who we do it with
  • Preferred experience working with Sales, Operations and HR organizations, across different geographies within and outside of the U.S.
