About the company:

Crusoe exists to bring energy to ideas. We are the pioneers of clean computing infrastructure that reduces both the costs and the environmental impact of the world’s expanding digital economy. By unlocking stranded sources of energy to power cloud and data center services, we are creating the climate-aligned future of compute-intensive innovation that reduces rather than adds to emissions. The world’s appetite for computation, energy, and progress will never stop growing. Crusoe is here to bring energy to ideas in ways that are aligned with the needs of our climate.

Crusoe Energy is on a mission to unlock value in stranded energy resources through the power of computation.

Take a look at what we do! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlt8k71Quqw

We aim to align the long term interests of the climate with the future of global computing infrastructure. As data centers consume an exponentially growing power footprint to deliver technology to all connected devices, we are inspired by making sure that the energy meeting that demand is sourced in an environmentally responsible fashion. Crusoe co-locates mobile data centers with stranded energy resources, like flare gas and underloaded renewables, to deliver low-cost, carbon-negative distributed computing solutions. Crusoe Cloud is a managed cloud services platform powered by stranded energy that enables climate-friendly innovation in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering, and computational biology.

About the Role:

As a Senior Network Engineer, your success will be defined by the following performance objectives. You will contribute to Crusoe’s mission by delivering network solutions for corporate locations and other offices, ensuring compliance, security, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and growing environment.

Performance Objectives:

  • Complete the design and deployment of corporate networks for new sites:
Work closely with the IT Operations and System Engineering teams to create a design for corporate networks at new sites. You’ll manage vendor relationships, ensure security compliance, and address all network-related concerns, from infrastructure to implementation. Success will be measured by network performance and user satisfaction.

  • Lead network security initiatives and audits:
Assess current network security at all corporate locations, propose improvements, and implement necessary changes to bring systems in compliance with internal policies and industry standards. Conduct regular audits and provide clear, actionable reports to management and the Compliance Team. Your success will be demonstrated through compliance ratings and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

  • Respond to and resolve escalated network issues from the ServiceDesk team:
You will serve as the go-to person for network-related troubleshooting. Measure success by minimizing downtime and maintaining the team’s SLA for issue resolution. You'll document solutions to recurring problems to improve overall team efficiency.

  • Contribute to the design of the Bill of Materials (BOM) for network infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time delivery for all corporate sites in 2024:

Support the Project Manager by drafting detailed BOMs for each network deployment, ensuring that every project meets its deadlines and budget requirements. Your ability to coordinate with vendors, select appropriate equipment, and manage project timelines will directly influence success.

  • Stay ahead of new networking technologies with a focus on Cisco Meraki:

This role requires a deep specialization in the Meraki platform. You will stay informed on Meraki’s product-line, roadmap features, and best practices to ensure we leverage the full capabilities of the platform. This expertise will help Crusoe maximize its investment in Meraki and ensure seamless implementation of future enhancements.

  • Maintain a 95% on-time response rate for all compliance-related network issues:
Work closely with the Compliance Team to ensure that all compliance-related issues, including audits and network security tasks, are addressed in a timely and thorough manner. Achieve and maintain a 95% on-time response rate.

  • Create accurate and visually compelling network diagrams, IP schemas, and reports for every corporate location:
Without being asked, take the initiative to document all corporate network designs, including diagrams and port maps. Regularly update these materials to reflect any changes. Your diagrams should be clear, detailed, and useful to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus 5+ years as a Network Engineer

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki product lines, including IoT

  • Proven track record of building out new office networks, from planning to implementation

  • Expertise in working with IT vendors and carriers for new site builds
