About the company:

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Lab Technician, Power Systems to join our Power Systems Engineering team. You will assist with all aspects of prototype builds of power electronics converters as listed below.
You will work onsite in our office in San Jose, CA, and you will report to report to our Staff Engineer.
Role and Responsibilities
- Construction of Prototype units
- Wiring for both low voltage and high voltage/high current circuits
- Rework fabricated parts to enable proper assembly
- Perform functional testing and failure analysis to a component level
- Construction of test fixtures
- Perform prototype testing per written specification or verbal instruction
- Coordinate activities with internal and external suppliers to ensure delivery and installation of equipment
- Organize and collaborate testing with other internal testing groups
- Manage lab resources, equipment, supplies and components
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical assembly, including use of torque wrenches, Dremel tools, power tools, fork lifts
- 5+ years of experience with wiring including terminated optical cables, high current crimp lugs
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office-based apps
- Manual dexterity to assemble very small components with magnification assistance

Compensation and Benefits | S4
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
