We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the R&D Engineering team, a group responsible for meeting the mechanical design and development needs of the entire R&D organization.
 
Members of the R&D Engineering team scope, design, fabricate, prototype, instrument, and evaluate hardware with teams developing Form Energy’s fundamental technology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build and qualify new prototypes, and test stands across technical efforts
  • Develop functional requirements in close collaboration with members of Form’s product and technology development teams
  • Run an iterative design process, confirming that mechanical and electrochemical requirements are achieved
  • Perform hands-on prototyping of your designs
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high volume internal production
  • Collaborate with testing teams to define and execute validation test plans
  • Support the analysis of test data to enable data-based decision making
  • Work with R&D Engineering team members on varying projects based on your skills/interests and Form’s top priorities
  • What You’ll Bring:

  • Passion for our mission, sustainability, and climate change
  • B.S. required in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Fabrication experience is a required
  • Excellent communicator across a range of engineering and business functions
  • Machine design, systems design, automation, or process equipment experience a plus
  • Electrochemical energy storage or conversion systems design a plus (i.e., alkaline batteries, Li-ion, PEM fuel cells, electrolyzers)
