Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Module Product Design group working on the core battery module and support systems in Form Energy’s long-duration energy storage system. This role will own the design of components and assemblies from concept to production, with emphasis on design for manufacture and assembly. The ideal candidate will have direct experience designing components for high volume production and exhibit an ability to creatively solve mechanical design challenges and subsequently impart rigorous design processes to ensure product success. Further, this role will be responsible for defining requirements for mechanical components in the battery module and subsequently designing components that meet those requirements. The Mechanical Engineer must be comfortable working on highly interdisciplinary teams and will be expected to work across disciplines to define requirements and inform qualification testing. Finally, this role will be deeply involved in prototyping efforts of new battery module and system designs.

Lead the design of components integral to the battery module structure, thermal, and electrical systemsValidate designs through analysis (e.g. FEA) and component-level testingDevelop functional requirements in close collaboration with members of Form’s product and technology development teams Perform hands-on prototyping of your designs and collaborate with cell, module, and systems engineers on integrated prototypesWork with manufacturing engineers and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high volume internal productionCollaborate with testing teams to define and execute validation test plansWhat You'll Bring:
BS required in Mechanical Engineering or related field3+ years of experience in mechanical designProficient in computer-aided design (CAD)Excellent communicator, across a range of engineering and business functionsKnowledgeable about fabrication and prototyping techniquesExperienced in production design (DFMA) or design for mass manufacturingBattery experience is a plus
