What success will look like for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Design work and development work on battery projects for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Lead design and planning activities as needed by the business, including;
- Working closely with colleagues to create optimised solutions to challenging requirements of battery development.
- Working on all aspects of battery design against requirements in a fast paced environment including Packaging, Cooling and Thermal management
- Able to populate DFMEA, manage requirements, manage 2D and 3D drawing, apply good GD&T techniques and use the company PLM system.
- Design of composite and metallic structures enclosures would be included in some of the tasks. You are a team player that has great communication skills.
- Mentorship of junior colleagues
Everything sounds very interesting but how do I know this is the role for me?
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Good level of base knowledge of battery systems including Cooling and Thermal management
- Proven capability of carrying out battery design and development
- Creative problem solving skills
- Understanding of basic structural loading
- Good presentation and negotiation skills
- Proficient in CAD - NX, SolidWorks, Catia
We are also recruiting for an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer with a very similar skill set and will consider your application across both positions.
