About the company:

Zoox is transforming mobility-as-a-service by developing a fully autonomous, purpose-built fleet designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy.

We’ve created a purpose-built robotaxi that gives the world a better way to ride. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of ride-hailing in urban environments. We’re looking for top talent that shares our passion and wants to be part of a fast-moving and highly execution-oriented team.

As Senior Manager, Employee Communications at Zoox, you will lead how we engage, inform, and energize our crew (our cherished name for our employees) as we make autonomous ride-hailing a reality. This critical leadership role calls for an experienced communications professional ready to elevate our employee communications function.
In this role, you will help our crew understand our strategy, connect deeply to our mission, and navigate change with clarity. As a trusted partner to the executive team, you will provide steady, visible leadership, guiding employees through pivotal moments and ensuring they stay aligned, informed, and inspired.

Our goal is to connect Zoox crew to what matters most, amplify their voices, and help the organization move faster and smarter. We do this by keeping everyone informed, fostering engagement, enabling leaders to act with clarity, and producing events that bring the company together.

In this role you will:

  • Lead our employee communications strategy, ensuring messaging is clear, transparent, and consistent across the company.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders to develop high-impact internal communications, including company-wide updates, change initiatives, and sensitive or high-stakes moments.
  • Guide and develop a high-performing employee communications team with high standards and a people-first approach.
  • Anticipate potential issues and manage communications during periods of uncertainty or crisis.
  • Use data, insights, and new tools to measure effectiveness and continuously improve engagement.
  • Coach executives to be confident, credible, and authentic communicators.
  • Qualifications

  • You've got 10+ years of strategic communications experience under your belt and 5+ years leading teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Partnering with C-suite leaders on complex, high-stakes communications energizes you.
  • You love storytelling and you have honed your skills to balance inspiration, clarity, and precision.
  • Highly technical environments don’t intimidate you and you’re able to simplify complexity without losing nuance.
  • You have a thoughtful, confident point of view and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • You have a deep respect for employees and a belief that strong internal communication drives trust and performance.
