Zoox is seeking a highly skilled Senior Logistics Assembly Line Manager to support the material flow, inventory accuracy, and line-side operations within our manufacturing environment. You will work directly with production, engineering, and quality to ensure our assembly line operates with precision and consistency.

This role blends logistics operations expertise with industrial engineering fundamentals, making it ideal for someone who can optimize processes, design efficient material-delivery systems, and support continuous improvement in a high-tech manufacturing environment.  Material flow mapping, improving workstation ergonomics, reducing waste, and increasing throughput for materials from the warehouse to the assembly line will be key focus areas.  This position will be focused on execution management and serve as an interface to operations as we scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure timely, accurate material delivery to the assembly line through proactive coordination with warehouse, kitting, and supply chain teams.
  • Analyze production schedules, BOMs, and consumption trends to maintain continuous line readiness and prevent disruptions.
  • Develop and optimize material presentation, line-side stocking strategies, and replenishment systems (e.g., Kanban, kitting, flow racks).
  • Support configuration, usage, and updates within ERP/MRP systems to maintain part accuracy and traceability, along with investigating and resolving shortages, discrepancies, and material flow bottlenecks, escalating risks early.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to implement new processes, equipment, and material handling solutions.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow assessments to scale logistics operations as production grows.
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures, visual management tools, 5S practices, and tracking and reporting of KPIs, including material availability, delivery accuracy, line support responsiveness, and inventory integrity, at the assembly line.
  • Design and support the launch of new prototype builds between two different manufacturing plants.
  • Coordinate logistics readiness activities for new builds, engineering changes, and NPI transition.s
  • Develop schedules and trackers to ensure materials, processes, and line-side setups meet program milestones.
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, manufacturing support, assembly operations, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of line-side material delivery, inventory control, and production support workflows.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP is preferred).
  • Working knowledge of industrial engineering concepts such as time studies, layout optimization, takt-time planning, and waste elimination.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on the production floor.
  • Hands-on problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Industrial Engineering degree or background (IE coursework, certification, or hands-on experience).
  • Experience in automotive, robotics, electric vehicle, or high-complexity assembly operations.
  • Experience with launching a new assembly line
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, Kaizen, value-stream mapping).
  • Experience supporting NPI and ramp-up production environments.
  • Knowledge of material flow automation, AGVs, or warehouse technology is a plus.
  • Experience with dashboards, trackers, or project tools (Sheets/Excel, JIRA, Asana, Smartsheet, etc.).
