Role Description
This is an opportunity to have a direct and daily impact in an exciting energy technology startup. We are seeking an engineer to support our Operations Infrastructure team in support of our growing lab space and equipment needs. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in engineering development, hands-on experience in R&D, manufacturing or laboratory operations, a “can-do” attitude, and strong independent problem solving skills. The role will require collaboration with engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure that the Battery R&D team is not limited by the build and test equipment infrastructure or capacity.

What You'll Do:
Provide engineering support to the Site Operations and Infrastructure Teams to solve equipment selection, commissioning/troubleshooting, maintenance and repairOwn the system design of technical infrastructure projects that support wet chemistry, engineering processes, machine shop and general R&D activitiesRoll up your sleeves to contribute hands-on to development projectsEvaluate your system design in the perspective of the person that will be building or using itIdentify and implement design or process improvements to ensure safety, quality, reliability, maintainability, availability, consistency, and efficiencyWork with a small team of technicians that will specify, source, install, and commission new capital equipmentDevelop procedures and work instructions for technicians, engineers or external suppliersAid in the development of best practices, training, maintenance and infrastructure to improve safety, in conjunction with Form Energy’s safety officers, for the laboratoryProvide life cycle documentation management of equipment (warranties, manuals, operator instructions) in company equipment management system such as UpKeepWhat You'll Bring:
BS degree in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineeringMinimum of 5 years experience in fast-paced high-tech environment with demonstrated problem-solving skillsAn ability to take fairly general business/operational requirements and turn them into detailed technical requirementsExperience leading a system design/sourcing project for laboratory/manufacturing/engineering equipment installationUnderstanding of general facilities systems, including electrical, plumbing, and structuralExperience working with technicians, outside contractors and vendors
