Role Description
We are looking for an EHS Technician to further develop and manage the daily functions of our hazardous materials program at our Berkeley, CA facility. You will work with our EHS Site Team, scientists, engineers and technicians to ensure the hazardous materials program, cradle to grave, is operating with the best and most efficient safety practices while also contributing to efforts to improve our culture of safety. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving technology start-up with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission.
The designation of Technician will be evaluated on both experience and speciality skills to be brought to the EHS Team and our 75+ EHS programs. This position is a great stepping stone for someone looking to eventually broaden their scope beyond hazardous waste management.

What You'll Do:
Support day-to-day compliance and management of hazardous materials, working closely with all members of the Form Energy team to provide a great and safe place to workManage the hazardous waste inspections, accumulation and shipmentsSupport operating permits and licenses related to hazardous materials; support Chemical approvalsContribute to work and program design to identify hazards, mitigate hazards and overall maximize employee comfort, safety and productivity for hazardous material managementOversee weekly safety inspections of the facility and key equipmentDeliver and enhance safety training for PPE, hazardous material handling, waste streams and incidental spill responseWhat You'll Bring:
2-4 years' experience in a dedicated waste management role with EHS program management and improvement experienceFamiliarity with OSHA/CalOSHA, DEP, CADEP, IATA, RCRA DOT requirements for hazardous materialsDirect experience with navigating regulatory LQG requirements and reportingKnowledge of chemical interactions and hazards and wet lab safetyAbility to proactively mitigate new hazards as well as quickly respond to critical situationsPrevious EHS work in the R&D, wet chemistry, or manufacturing fields preferredAspiration to learn and grow and specialize into other EHS programs
