Role Description
We are looking for an Sr EHS Specialist or Engineer to further develop and manage the daily functions of the Form Energy safety program at our facility located in Somerville, MA. This person will be responsible for working with our EHS Site Team to ensure our team is operating with best safety practices and leading efforts to improve the culture of safety in the workplace in both MA locations (within 0.3mi of each other). The ideal candidate will be both able to proactively mitigate new hazards as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly respond to critical situations. This person will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to provide a great and safe place to work. The designation of Specialist or Engineer will be evaluated on both experience and desired skills to be brought to the EHS Team.

What You'll Do:

  • Support day-to-day compliance with EHS policies and regulations
  • Manage the hazardous waste inspections
  • Manage the environmental operating permits
  • Contribute to work and program design to identify hazards, mitigate hazards and overall maximize employee comfort, safety and productivity
  • Oversee weekly safety inspections of the facility and key equipment
  • Conduct task hazard assessments and job safety analyses of new processes & materials
  • Manage safety training schedules for various teams and departments
  • Deliver and develop safety training
  • Support Process and Product development team
  • Work closely with departments to ensure EHS requirements are being addressed and met 
  • What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a dedicated EHS role
  • EHS program management and improvement
  • Familiar with both OSHA and Cal OSHA requirements for general industry
  • Direct experience with navigating regulatory LQG requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of chemical interactions and hazards and wet lab safety
  • DOT, RCRA and Title V experience
  • Process Safety Experience preferred
  • Advanced degree in safety, chemistry, or engineering preferred
  • ASP/CSP/CHMM/CIH or similar certifications preferred
