This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.
The Senior DevOps Engineer position is a critical member of the Fluence Digital team. This position you will provide thought leadership, technical expertise, and develop strategic initiatives to scale and upgrade the platform as well as your team.
Maintain a healthy and balanced working culture as well as assist in the development of your cohorts skillsets.
Improve resilience by fortifying the environment against internal and external pressures, reduce time to recovery, and ensure adherence to principles of ephemerality and portability.
Develop or implement tools to lower engineering’s hurdles.

In Colorado, the standard pay range for this role is $120,000 - 140,000 annually. This range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable in other locations.

Key role responsibilities include:
Scale and support our ever-growing Kubernetes ecosystems
Assist in the formation and development of various Ops teams/functional groups: DataOps, SecOps, etc.
Support and improve internal tooling focusing on repeatability and consistency between local and cloud environments with the goal of reducing time to delivery
Improve visibility into our infrastructure through metrics, monitoring, and alerting
Maintain and improve our existing build and development infrastructure and strategize for the next generation system
Contribute to application code base as desired, with opportunities to learn new languages and frameworks
Ensure adherence to development best practices and present learning opportunities to engineers
Maintain regular communication and announcements of DevOps undertakings, achievements, retros, etc.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
5+ years of professional software and/or DevOps experience
Demonstrated ability to promote collaborative and cooperative working culture
Experience with large scale (1000+ unit) environments
Experience implementing security best practices
Pragmatic and realistic understanding of ideal vs actual states
Experience in application development a plus
Experience supporting deployment and monitoring of AI/ML pipelines to cloud environments and the python scientific stack a plus
