About the company:
Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
The Senior Cost Engineer, Electromechanical is a core member of FAB4 teams: Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and Cost Engineering. This position is expected to Identify the most efficient way to meet performance specifications for high voltage, low voltage, and electrotechnical assemblies on current and future electric BEV vehicles. Another key responsibility is to identify lower cost, lower complexity, and lower carbon alternatives to traditional electronic and electromechanical BEV systems. The Senior Cost Engineer will also supply cost data from the early design phase through sourcing, prototyping, and final supplier sourcing of parts and assemblies. The primary focus is HV, SoCs, controllers, inverters, traction motors, and other electronics but this role will also need to support stampings, plastics, assembly, and other vehicle subsystems.
The Senior Cost Engineer will support all electronics-related content of the BEV vehicle. The role goes beyond cost estimating of designed parts to working with FAB4 teams to optimize the electrical design and assembly of future BEV vehicles.
