Senior Cost Accountant

ICON is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team to support our financial reporting activities. This candidate will have a knack for juggling multiple projects and has a passion to build processes from the foundation. This role is based in our Austin, TX Campus and reports to the Controller. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the full month-end close process with respect to manufacturing inventory, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare schedules and journal entries, calculate accruals, perform other various account reconciliations, and analyze budget variances.
• Prepare and report on analyses of manufacturing overhead included in inventory.
• Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts with other departments and manage the financial statement effects.
• Assist in building the company’s accounting processes as we grow and scale the business.
• Establish and maintain internal controls.
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and assist on ad hoc projects as necessary.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits; interact with outside auditors to support the year-end audit process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting and/or public accounting.
• Familiarity in creating and automating processes to create efficiencies.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Sage Intacct ERP.
• Manufacturing, construction, and/or technology domain knowledge preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, reporting).
