Senior Controls Engineer

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</span></p></div><p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop battery control systems for Archer’s high voltage battery management system</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Design the control architecture necessary for safe and efficient flight</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work in model based design environments to create, test and validate battery estimation algorithms</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work in parallel with the GNC, integration and software teams to implement, validate, and debug battery control systems and provide elegant solutions.</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Need:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a background in control systems theory</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>5+ years of experience in a related field</strong></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Expert in writing code to develop battery estimation algorithms (SOx, power prediction, fast charging, prognostics)</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Working knowledge of lithium-ion battery electrical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal characteristics</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Familiarity with lab instruments such oscilloscopes, DAQs, power supplies</strong></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Excellent organizational and communication skills</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Experience with high voltage battery systems</strong></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Experience with FAA certification</strong></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><h5><span style="font-weight: 400;">Archer is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
