Aurora’s Legal team is growing! In order to support its mission and close great deals at scale, we are looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel to join us. As a foundational member of Aurora’s Legal department, you will have the opportunity to grow in the organization, making an incredible impact while continuing your development as a legal professional. The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial attorney in the SaaS space with a proactive nature in identifying issues and presenting solutions, as well as someone who is searching for a collaborative environment brimming with novel questions. The legal team plays an essential role at the company, answering and managing all legal questions to help support the various needs of the company.

What you'll do:
Draft, review, and negotiate domestic and international SaaS agreements, vendor, partner, reseller, referral, and other related professional services and technology agreementsIdentify business and legal risks and issues and suggest practical alternatives that allow the business of the company to move forward in compliance with domestic and international laws, rules, and regulationsBe a truly cross-functional team player by working closely with the GTM, Business Development, Security, Finance, Procurement, and other departments at Aurora SolarOperate as a subject-matter expert for legal and regulatory matters relating to commercial agreementsBuild operational and scalable processes and procedures and help shorten the time to sale and time to purchase! Prioritize and manage simultaneous legal matters under tight timelinesTemplate and playbook development, review, maintenance, and administrationBe a motivating and inspirational leader and manager in a way that aligns with Aurora's valuesStart with improving, and implementing Aurora’s internal playbooks and legal documentation to understand Aurora’s contract lifecycle and risk management from a Vendor & Customer perspectivePromote Aurora Security, Privacy & Procurement ProjectsDevelop a strong comprehension of Aurora’s products and business model
What we value:
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar, CA & NY Preferred5-7 years of experience in a law firm or in-house (or a combination thereof), preferably with some of which focusing on technology transactions at SaaS companies and/or start-upsExperience working on customer & vendors deals for a SaaS orgFamiliarity with global and domestic privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPAStrong critical thinking and strategic skills demonstrating sound judgmentExcellent client service focus and ability to prioritize workflow and manage multidimensional projects in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work well in a team environment, but also comfortable with taking ownership of projects and driving them to conclusionSkilled at balancing legal risk with business objectivesFlexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of sometimes novel legal matters
