Position: Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer; Remote (US)

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure as a code to create the necessary cloud resources which operate our research applications and pipelines. This position will be a member of the Data Services group within the Scientific Computing team. The Data Services group is responsible for creating software systems which store, process, and make experimental data accessible to the research community at Pivot Bio. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across several research groups providing solutions spanning genomics, bioinformatics, laboratory, greenhouse, field trials, UAV and GIS.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement infrastructure as code to create resources in AWS using Terraform
• Use GitOps to automate deployment actions and stage changes
• Proactively monitor continuous delivery pipelines to improve the development experience and productivity
• Understand cloud costs and implement economical solutions

Qualifications and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience creating cloud infrastructure
• AWS – S3, EC2, ECS, EKS, ECR, Fargate, IAM, RDS, VPC, Batch
• Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Python/Ruby
• GitOps/DevOps
• Learn new technologies quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-organized and strong attention to detail
• Background in science or research a plus
• Contribution to open-source projects a plus
