What success will look like for you, as a Certification Engineer – Electrical Systems?

As a Certification Engineer on Electrical Systems, you will be responsible for bringing in-depth knowledge and experience to the team to support the certification of VA’s production eVTOL. You will be working closely with the design teams, Airworthiness Authorities and Industrial Partners to ensure that Certification Requirements are clearly cascaded, and compliance demonstrated. In your role you will be interfacing and leading the electrical systems discussions with the UK CAA and Foreign Validation Authorities.

You will report to the Head of Certification and will be a key member of the Airworthiness team to support the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience and knowledge of processes and certification specifications relevant to the Design, Certification and Continuing Airworthiness (SC-VTOL, CS 23, CS 25, CS 27, SC-E-19 or equivalent FAA Part 23, Part 25, Part 27, and Part 33) along with  in-depth knowledge of certification guidelines material, such as AMCs, FAA ACs.

Additionally, you will need to be educated to degree level or higher in Aeronautical or Engineering or equivalent, as well as having good working knowledge of certification deliverables according to RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254 and with the SAE ARP4754B framework.

You will ideally have also had recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA/UK CAA Part 21J Design Organisation.
