About the company:

Axle Energy is a UK-based energy technology company that provides a unified API platform enabling carmakers, EV charger manufacturers, battery systems, and heating and cooling providers to connect distributed home energy assets to electricity markets. Through its platform, companies can aggregate these assets into a coordinated virtual power plant (VPP), allowing flexible demand to be shifted and optimised in response to grid conditions. Axle handles the full stack from asset onboarding and optimisation to payment distribution, making it straightforward for hardware and energy brands to monetise flexibility without building bespoke grid integration infrastructure. Axle Energy's mission is closely aligned with the green energy transition. By turning everyday home assets such as electric vehicles, heat pumps, and batteries into grid-responsive resources, the company helps balance electricity networks that are increasingly reliant on intermittent renewable generation. This approach supports decarbonisation goals by reducing the need for fossil-fuel peaker plants and enabling higher penetrations of renewable energy, while also providing financial returns to end users and partner businesses. What distinguishes Axle Energy is its developer-first approach and breadth of asset coverage under a single, enterprise-grade API with over 99.9% uptime. The platform currently has 300,000 live devices connected and a flexibility pool of 2 GW of shiftable load capacity. Trusted by brands including Pod Point, Myenergi, and Easee, Axle has demonstrated the ability to drive regulatory change and deliver features rapidly. The company announced a $25 million Series A funding round led by Energize Capital, underscoring investor confidence in its market position.
