ABOUT THE ROLE....

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated research scientist, who is committed and passionate about developing 21st century solutions to address global food challenges, to join our fast-growing team. You will engage as a scientist and technical expert to design and execute high throughput molecular assays to support genome editing tool development and editing target characterization. This role will be based in Cambridge, MA. 

AS A SCIENTIST, ASSAY DEVELOPMENT, YOU WILL…

  • Participate in both the Science platform and scientific projects to push the boundaries of current technologies at Inari.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose cell-based systems and screening methods to support genome editing tool development and optimization.
  • Design and execute robust in vitro and in vivo high-throughput selection and screens for protein function, interaction and expression.
  • Support automation of novel biochemical and molecular assays.
  • Explore “out-of-the-box” ideas to combine genome editing technologies with high throughput screening assays to support Inari’s data driven predictive design approaches.
  • Work with other scientists and research associates to develop, plan, execute and deliver scientific objectives in an accountable manner.
  • Interpret data, maintain accurate and comprehensive records, and communicate results to different internal and external stakeholders.

 YOU BRING…

  • D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology Synthetic biology or a similar field is required; or equivalent experience in an industry context with a Masters or Bachelors degree
  • Knowledge and understanding of genome editing technologies
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with high-throughput CRISPR functional genomic screens  
  • Strong experience in the analysis of functional genomic screening data and, integration of functional genomics with molecular profiling and other data types
  • Demonstrated track record of tackling complex problems, critical thinking, leading others to obtain novel insights and driving a culture of innovation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to lead in a hands-on, lab-based manner
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning
  • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback
  • Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences
