What You Will Be Doing:

The Quartz Glassblower will collaborate with others and work solo to provide flameworking support for our Quartz team. You will support quartz fabrications that will be used directly and indirectly on our fusion machine. You will report to the Quartz Glass Materials Specialist located at our Everett WA location.

You will:

  • Work with quartz welding plate assemblies and cutting/grinding operations

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints and work orders for multiple operations

  • Assess and compile a materials list to complete work orders and assigned tasks

  • Handle hand and lathe glassblowing operations

  • Fabricate with small quartz assemblies (<3mm)

  • Assist with large-scale glassblowing operations (>300mm)

  • Clean quartz glass tubing and plate

  • Help resolve technical problems

  • Read work orders, follow production drawings, and receive verbal and written instructions to perform job-specific tasks

  • Position and align parts in relation to each other within a fixture, lathe, or manually (using tweezers, vacuum chuck, or hand instruments)

  • Load and unload annealing ovens and check parts for stress or vacuum leaks

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area

Required Skills:

  • 10 + years of glassblowing experience

  • Experience working with tight tolerance, high-value components

  • Experience working on multiple projects in parallel with daily tasks

  • Experience with vacuum-facing quartz assemblies

  • Team collaboration skills coupled with solo project management

 

The pay range for this position is $85k to $120k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
