Research Laboratory Engineer

• To develop and document analytical methods as standard operating procedures.

• To perform analytical methods in the characterization of solvent samples.

• To plan and carryout experiments in the development of CO2 capture solvent technologies.

• To manage the safe operation of laboratory equipment & instruments and to evaluate outputs.

• To test and develop novel CO2 capture process technology.

Requirements

• A Master’s in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant subject. PhD is desirable 

• Experience of working in a laboratory environment 

• Thorough understanding of chemical analysis methods and techniques, including but not limited to: GC-FID, GC-TCD, GC-MS, LC-MS, TIC/TOC, acid/base titration, KF titration, ICP-OES, FTIR 

• Posses a strong knowledge of mass transfer, chemical equilibria and thermodynamics 

• Experience with pilot plant operation and process control is desirable 

• Knowhow and experience in researching or developing solvent-based CO2 capture technology 

• Display the ability to critically assess data and literature to provide insight to the R&D and technical teams when required 

• An expert communicator with the ability to report technical information to a non-technical audience 

• Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously to a high standard with minimal supervision
