ABOUT THE POSITION:
Fluence Energy, a global leader in energy storage solutions, is seeking a passionate and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team in Australia. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our energy storage systems across various projects in Australia. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with energy storage systems, ultimately driving continuous improvement in reliability and uptime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reliability Analysis: Conduct thorough reliability assessments and failure mode analysis of energy storage systems to identify potential areas for improvement.
Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential failures and ensure the long-term reliability of energy storage assets.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze performance data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
Failure Investigations: Lead investigations into equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and maintain performance monitoring systems to track the health and performance of energy storage systems in real-time.
Maintenance Optimization: Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize preventive maintenance schedules and procedures based on reliability data and performance analysis.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to reliability, safety, and performance of energy storage systems.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to integrate reliability considerations into the design, construction, and operation of energy storage projects.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of energy storage systems.
Customer Facing: Interface with customers to present RCA reports and work collaboratively to meet their technical requirements.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or a similar role, preferably in the energy or power industry.
·        Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and their components.
·        Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, failure analysis techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
·        Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools/software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, JMP).
·        Experience with energy storage technologies (e.g. lithium-ion batteries) is highly desirable.
·        Proven track record of driving results and implementing reliability improvements in complex technical systems.
·        Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements related to energy storage
·        Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
·        Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
·        Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
