About This Role
We are looking for an exceptional, team-oriented Quality Technician to join our growing Process Engineering team under Apeel’s Tropical Business Unit. In this role you will be a critical part of the Apeel organization, working directly with our Uruapan based field team to collect, analyze, and interpret data for Apeel’s Performance Monitoring Program. You will ensure that data processing is accurate and efficient, while prioritizing data integrity and product performance.
This opportunity is based in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico. The shift schedule will vary to include mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
What You’ll Do
- Collect measurements (gas exchange, firmness, quality, etc) for fruit sample holdbacks from Apeel’s operations.
- Streamline data collection process and maintain and orderly laboratory environment
- Contribute to monthly quality reporting
- Continuously improve measurement and analysis process
- Provide feedback to Process Engineer(s) and Field Staff in order to improve product performance
- Contribute to experimental design and analysis
What You Bring
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Food Science.
- Ability to work in accordance with regulations, standard operating procedures, and safety standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite including: Excel, Email, Calendar, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the life sciences, chemistry, or engineering.
- >1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting
- Flexibility to work on the weekends
- Experience working with Microsoft Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- English proficiency
- Experience with statistics
