What You’ll Do:
Archer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineering Intern to join our Quality team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in product quality processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in deploying processes that ensure Archer delivers safe, compliant products—right the first time, on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Logistics, and Manufacturing, to achieve production and certification goals.
  • Work with Engineers on Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plan development as part of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology.
  • Assist with First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Perform hands-on hardware activities such as visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished goods using calibrated measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Document and investigate product nonconformances (NCRs) and prepare detailed reports.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support corrective action development for identified defects.
  • Assist in process improvement projects focused on reducing scrap, minimizing rework, or improving quality processes.
  • Support the standardization of inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Interface with engineers, manufacturing technicians, and program management to accomplish objectives safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in engineering change reviews to assess quality impacts.

What You Need:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) at an accredited University, preferably a Junior going into your Senior year.
  • Proficient in conducting data analysis using software like Microsoft Office suite, Power BI, and similar tools.
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal, coupled with adept multitasking skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proactive and capable of independently driving tasks to completion.
  • Aligned with Archer’s core values.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Basic familiarity with Quality Standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001 
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or fabrication tools, equipment, and software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6S principles
  • Familiarity with the aviation industry

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
