The Role

Team Mission:  The quality team is a key enabler to ensuring the design, manufacturing, and operations of SPAN products deliver an amazing customer experience.  This comes through fostering a culture of proactive quality improvement by implementing methods and systems for promoting early failure detection in both the design and manufacturing process coupled with a robust RCCA process that drives improvement early in the product life cycle.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for managing and analyzing failed hardware customer returns.
  • Perform initial failure analysis on electromechanical systems to find the root cause of product quality issues. 
  • Communicate technical investigation results to key technical stakeholders from Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Maintain a failure analysis lab and Generate failure analysis reports.
  • Provide the quality oversight to the inspection of finished goods from the contract manufacturer and in-house manufacturing line.
  • Participate in NPI Activities - new product development through prototypical assembly, testing and evaluation of future manufacturing processes and setup test fixtures on the line.
  • Support, evaluate and provide feedback on new product designs and manufacturing processes.

About You 

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering or related fields or Equivalent Experience
  • Working knowledge of hardware quality, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis
  • R&D design or test experience in electrical and/or embedded software engineering
  • Demonstrate comprehension of electrical schematics to perform circuit troubleshooting
  • Demonstrate comprehension of mechanical drawings to validate dimensions
  • Team-oriented, results-based, creative, problem solver
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools (screw drivers, wire strippers, wire crimpers, digital multimeter, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience (electrical testing, failure analysis, etc.) in the Semiconductor, Electrical or Electronics industry
  • Arena PLM experience 
  • SolidWorks and Agile
  • Jira
