CFS is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead inspection and test activities for SPARC project. You will oversee daily inspections on multiple high precision machined components to support manufacturing and installation operations.

This team member will:

  • Lead the team of QC inspectors, plan their daily work schedule and report on daily status of inspections.
  • Plan and oversee successful completion of QC/QA inspections as per schedule.
  • Provide coaching and training to technicians and inspectors.
  • Ensure control of the MRB area and escalation of QC issues to Operations and Engineering as necessary.
  • Maintain Quality Inspection Lab and equipment
  • Develop inspection procedures for incoming material and in-process inspection during assembly and manufacturing.
  • Support CMM and NDT inspections as required.
  • Prepare and document detailed inspection reports and nonconformances as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret Inspection and NDT requirements related to steel, titanium, and other alloys.
  • Review and approve inspection and material test reports from vendors.
  • Support ISO 9001:2015 activities on the shop floor.
  • Reviews blueprints and documentation to ensure appropriate materials are used and specifications are followed.
  • Interface with Technicians on issues related to quality and help them in understanding and interpreting quality specifications and technical drawings.
  • Supervise up to 8 QC inspectors
  • The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • GD&T Training
  • 5+ years of experience as supervisor leading high precision inspections
  • Experience managing QC Technicians
  • Additional preferred experience and/or qualifications:

  • Associate's degree 
  • Experience in Aerospace or Automotive Industry
  • Large component inspections
  • Proficient in interpretation and usage of ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
  • Experience with traditional and vision based CMM Inspections including programming
  • Be able to set up, maintain, and use varieties of inspection hand tools (caliper, micrometer, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar, etc.)
  • Excellent people management and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform activities such as typing, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to do occasional travel
  • Working with appropriate PPE in the presence of hazards such an exposure to heat, cold, noise, and fumes.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call.
