About the company:

Vertical is a British aerospace tech company that's pioneering electric aviation through designing and building the UK's first all-electric, vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL). A quieter, faster, more sustainable way to travel between urban destinations.

Our Mission

At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The Valo, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.

We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals. Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2028 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers.

What to Expect

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in keeping our procurement operations running smoothly. You’ll work alongside Finance colleagues within a ‘Service Centre’ and collaborate daily with Buyers, Finance, Stores, and Quality teams. You’ll be the go-to person for processing purchase orders, following up on deliveries, and keeping supplier data accurate and up to date. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, detail-driven work and is curious to learn more about how a fast-paced aerospace supply chain operates.

What You’ll Do :

  • Process approved purchase requests into accurate orders within the ERP system

  • Ensure supplier details, pricing, part numbers, and delivery dates are correct before releasing orders

  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve documentation queries

  • Follow up on outstanding deliveries and flag potential delays to Buyers or stakeholders

  • Liaise with Stores, Goods-In, Finance, and Quality to help resolve receiving and invoice-matching issues

  • Keep supplier and item data accurate and up to date in the ERP system

  • Support Buyers with spend reports, supplier onboarding, and admin tasks like price updates or RFQs

  • Uphold purchasing policies and escalate any non-compliance or risks you spot

What You’ll Bring:

  • Great organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail, especially with data and documents

  • Experience in a purchasing, admin, or supply chain support role — or a strong interest in developing these skills

  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other common business tools

  • Comfortable working with ERP systems like INFOR LN, SAP, or Oracle, or keen to learn

  • Clear communicator, able to build good relationships with both suppliers and internal teams

  • Curious and eager to learn more about procurement processes and systems

  • Calm under pressure and able to handle multiple requests in a fast-paced setting

  • A proactive mindset — you like solving small problems before they become big ones
