We are looking for a Drive Unit Build Technician to assemble our latest prototype motor-gearboxes. These drive units are on the cutting edge of technology and require an individual with an immaculate attention to detail. Preferably, they have a track record of building and inspecting performance motors and transmissions. Their expertise will be critical to identifying key issues during assembly and working collaboratively with our design engineers to propel our technology to the next level.
Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions ,including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - starting from $35.00 per $48.00 hour to per hour

Demonstrate experience in building complex assembliesBe highly detail oriented and able to keep detailed documentation of buildsAssemble prototype drive unit assembliesComplete root cause analysis of drive units upon test completionCollaborate with design engineers to highlight assembly issues and suggest improvementsProactively engage to ensure impeccable drive unit quality standards
Qualifications:
Assembly experience with complex assembliesAbility to disassemble and reassemble motors and gear systems with instructionsFamiliarity with high precision measurement tools including bore gauges, calipers, and micrometersProficient with hand tools, power tools and build equipmentExcellent communication skills for collaborating engineeringWorks safely in environments with high voltage and heavy equipmentMinimum of 2 years of automotive (or related) technician experience
Preferred:
Strong fundamental understanding of how electric motors and geartrains functionExperience with electric vehicle propulsion systemsExposure to manufacturing processes and controlsCapable of fabricating with manual mill and latheExperience with root cause analysis at the component and system levelKnowledgeable with basic electrical tools: DMM, Hi-POT Tester and Oscilloscope
Education:
High school DiplomaASE certification a bonus
