Job Description

Lilac is seeking a Project Manager to manage full-scale lithium production projects ($500MM+) from the study phase through execution to commercial operation. The individual will report to the Director of Engineering Studies. Responsibilities will include engaging with technical/ fabrication/ field teams and EPCM companies providing consulting and execution services. The candidate will be responsible for establishing the scope, cost and schedule for the projects and manage risk proactively for successful delivery.  Travel will be required to the Oakland, California technical and fabrication teams, EPCM engineering contractor location and project sites.  Initially the projects are in South America and the US. Experience managing complex and challenging EPC projects is preferred. This is a full-time position.

Candidate Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering studies or equivalent
  • 10-15+yrs project managing multi-team EPCM projects through commissioning phases
  • Knowledge of project management tools, cost estimating and risk management
  • Comfortable managing critical supply chain relationships and contracts with vendors and contractors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership of large/diverse teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong commitment to ethical business practices
  • US or Canadian work permit, depending on location
  • Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team with a drive to succeed and grow with the company

Preferred Skills

  • South American experience
  • Spanish language skills
  • Experience in engineering, construction, natural resources projects in either chemicals or mining industries.
  • Experience in commissioning and operational readiness

Compensation

  • Salary range: $115K-$170K USD or $100K-$180K CAD (commensurate with experience)
