The Senior project engineer will work in many functions of project delivery including detailed design engineering, concept engineering, simulation, project management, on site integration support, and operations support.
General Job Duties:
Rotate between roles depending on current project needsResearch, develop, and propose appropriate new project applications – Manage all aspects of engineering projects from planning to budget management, equipment selection, vendor management, processes, project schedules, procedures, systems, to final project handoff and support processing, packaging, and material handling with automated solutionsOptimization of technology that has been implemented to increase efficiency and production outputLead AutoCAD drawings, RFQ, alternate designsCreative engineering (information and material flow) and innovative operational solutionsProvide excellent analysis of client's operational data used to design superior processes and systemsPerform detailed design work laying out exact material handling equipment models, supporting structures, and all other items that need to be selectedProvide computer simulation modeling of proposed material handling systemsAs project manager you will follow project management principles to ensure the project is completed on time and on budgetAs onsite integration assistant, you will help troubleshoot system ensuring smooth flow of product and increasing rate to peak performance As site supervisor, assist with site installation to include material inventory, schedule tracking, and supervising subcontractorsResponsible for ensuring technology transfer to Operations through SOP documentation, training, communication, observation programs for quality and safety, standards manuals, and other documents as necessary In depth understanding of all facets of material handling to include equipment, suppliers, and applicationsTimely completion of all reports and logs to include time reports and travel expensesMaintain consistent positive and enthusiastic attitudeRequirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical)5+ years experience within an Automated Material Handling environmentExposure to automation such as robotics, ASRS, shuttle systems, AGVs, conveyors and pallet systems preferredDemonstrated leadership skillsExcellent technical problem-solving capability (hardware, controls) and analytical skillsExperience with computer simulation (Flexsim, AutoMOD, Demo3D, Arena, etc.) a plusWilling to travel 20-40%Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other material handling design packagesEmployee Benefits:
