The ideal candidate will be a strategic and tactical leader in FAA product certification, partnering closely with the Product Program Manager to navigate the complex certification process. This role requires exceptional collaboration skills, interfacing with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring not only certification expertise but also a commitment to our people-centric culture, where each team member contributes to meaningful innovation that positively impacts the environment. 

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Create detailed project plans for certification activities and determining the critical path to ensure focus on the right activities 
  • Manage planning and completion of certification activities from initial application through final type certificate issuance and into production certification 
  • Identification and management of certification related risks 
  • Develop tracking tools to show certification status and progress for communication across the organization
  • Minumum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineeringor related technical field
  • 10+ years of program management experience in civil aviation aircraft development and certification
  • Working knowledge of the activities and sequencing required to complete an aircraft or engine certification project
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with team members throughout the organization
  • Excellent ability to be organized without predetermined structure
  • Able to be a pragmatic and creative thinker when solving complex problems in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to be a team player and wear different hats on different days depending on the need
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for multi-stakeholder technical environments
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft products including Microsoft Project and 365/office (SharePoint, Outlook, Calendar, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience coordinating or performing certification or verification testing
  • Experience preparing compliance data in support of commercial certification
  • Experience working on Initial Type design approvals with the FAA
