We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</span></p></div><p><strong>What you’ll do:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the </span><strong>Program Manager for BMS (Battery Management System) and Electric Powertrain Controls </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">you will be responsible and accountable for the program performance of significant systems critical to the success of the Archer business and our inaugural eVTOL aircraft.&nbsp;</span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will be responsible for and have the authority to lead and manage the development and production of the Battery Management System, Electric Powertrain Controls and related Powertrain Ground Support Equipment.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will coordinate and lead the synchronization of a cross-functional Powertrain core working team to ensure all the controls for the Powertrain are integrated across the aircraft.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responsibility and Accountability includes defining Program Scope including Technical, Schedule and Cost elements. You will be expected to focus on leading new product development, identifying production solutions (Make or Buy), Risk and Opportunity management, Integrated Schedule Management, Requirements Management, Issue Identification and Resolution as well as collaborating on Test Plans and supporting Aircraft Certification for Entry Into Service. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Primary responsibilities are the management of scope, cost, schedule, and technical </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">performance </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">to program requirements and milestones for all systems and subsystems. You will rely on the Engineering Director and applicable Work Package Managers to develop and execute the </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">technical performance</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> on your program.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Primary deliverable will be the successful product design, product development, product test, component and sub-system production, inclusive of suppliers, and applicable qualification and certification of all components, sub-systems, systems for the defined program.&nbsp;</span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Battery Management System or BMS will include but not be limited to electronic control circuits that monitor and regulate the charging and discharge of batteries. The battery system elements to be managed include the detection of battery type, voltages, temperature, capacity, cell balancing, state of charge, power consumption, remaining operating time, charging cycles, and related characteristics.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Powertrain Controls will include management of algorithm development to support the various components and elements in this system</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">This role will also manage the Powertrain Ground Support Equipment to include but not be limited to battery charger, battery cooling, and specialty tools required to provide in-service maintenance and support of the electric powertrain.&nbsp; GSE elements may include items necessary for removal and replacement of powertrain components, fault detection and isolation, diagnostic tools, and related items.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Program Manager will&nbsp;</span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Define, launch, and drive mission-critical technical and business initiatives to ensure program success and will be expected to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop strong relationships across Archer, inclusive of suppliers, and lead a multidisciplinary team to execute complex development programs within schedule and budget.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Build program task-based schedules, lead program kickoff and / or&nbsp; gate meetings, and track milestone progress against the program management plan.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Identify and manage program Risks, Issues and Opportunities to closure.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Utilize configuration control and change management to maintain technical discipline of the program.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be responsible for complex program management tasks and development of standards and processes for planning, scheduling, administration, and accounting.</span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">In collaboration with other Program Managers, Engineering Directors and Work Package Managers, you will define, acquire, and allocate budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objective of the program.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will be expected to exercise judgment and delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>What you need:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A minimum of 10 years related engineering experience in aircraft or automotive systems design, development, test and certification.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Technical knowledge of electric powertrain systems and components with an emphasis on software controls.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Technically focused aircraft or automotive product and program management leadership experience.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong interpersonal skills especially in team building/maintenance and customer relationships.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Must be able to act independently, routinely demonstrate initiative and make decisions on administrative / operational issues affecting the success of the program.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Computer Engineering Preferred (or equivalent).</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and / or MBA is desirable.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thorough understanding of engineering product development including design phases, manufacturing business processes and supply chain management knowledge.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Knowledge of and experience within electric powertrain systems such as batteries, electric engines, inverters, gearboxes and related ground support equipment.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This position reports directly to the Vice President of Program Management.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
