Role Description

Form Energy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Supervisor to join our team at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, overseeing our Pack assembly production operations.

In this critical leadership role, you will be directly responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of a key production line. You will lead a large, diverse team of direct report manufacturing associates, comprising both direct employees and contract labor. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role requiring strong operational expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment ranging from prototyping and trials to high-volume production.

You will ensure that all production goals are met on time and act as the vital link between associates and the Production Manager to maintain a continuous improvement culture.

This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 – Form Energy’s 550,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Weirton, WV, a commutable distance from Pittsburgh. Purpose-built for high-volume, advanced battery production, Form Factory 1 is a hub of fast-moving, collaborative work driving a new era of large-scale American energy manufacturing in the heart of the Rust Belt.

Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Production Leadership & Oversight: Directly manage the day-to-day operations of the Pack production line for the day shift to meet all production, quality, and safety targets.

  • Large Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of direct employees and contract labor. Delegate tasks and provide clear direction to ensure maximum productivity and adherence to schedules.

  • Complex Process Management: Oversee production activities that include a variety of manufacturing techniques, such as BOM/Revision management, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.

  • Team Development: Provide performance coaching and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement among all production team members.

  • Operational Excellence in Dynamic Environments: Drive operational execution and ensure flexibility to meet high volume production targets while also executing trials and experiments on the line.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, leading efforts to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular line audits and safety checks.

  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Act as the first line of escalation for production issues, supporting Leads and Associates in resolving equipment malfunctions, material shortages, and operational bottlenecks to minimize downtime.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors on other shifts, the Associate Production Manager, and cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Maintenance, Quality) to ensure smooth transitions and implement process improvements

What you'll bring:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of direct experience leading and supervising production teams.

  • Collaboration: Possess a strong ability to collaborate with engineering teams and coordinate cross-functionally.

  • Process Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing a dynamic manufacturing process and managing change.

  • Team Leadership: Strong track record of successfully managing and integrating both direct employees and contract labor to achieve shared goals.

  • Operational Skills: Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen), and process optimization.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to use production data and trends to quickly address complex issues.

  • Safety Focus: Deep understanding of workplace safety regulations (OSHA) and experience in fostering a strong culture of safety.

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, operations management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
