About the company:

dcbel develops technology and designs products that put people at the center of the modern energy ecosystem. The company was founded in 2015 on the principle that everyone deserves clean, reliable and sustainable energy to live a life without compromise.

dcbel Home Energy Station perfects the art and science of smart home energy, allowing people to take ownership over their energy supply with one small device.

Homeowners can supply their home and EV with solar power, use vehicle-to-home charging to make power outages a thing of the past, and reduce energy costs with artificial intelligence.

dcbel Inc. (www.dcbel.energy) is a growing company developing technology and designing products that will make clean, efficient, and sustainable energy accessible to all — because everyone in the world deserves energy without compromise.

dcbel at the leading edge of the residential energy revolution, enabling decentralized energy consumption and production through its vertically integrated suite of energy hardware and software products, and their supporting infrastructure. Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.

The opportunity

dcbel is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead the manufacturing operations of our New Product Introduction (NPI) facility. This role is responsible for overseeing the assembly, testing and packaging of dcbel products while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys being on the production floor, and has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence. You will play a critical role in scaling production, supporting product launches, and establishing the manufacturing foundation required to bring innovative energy solutions to market.

Working closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and  Logistics teams, you will own the complete manufacturing flow, from receiving and assembly through final product release.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead daily production operations, including assembly, testing, final inspection, packaging, and shipment preparation, while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Execute production plans and coordinate resources across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering to maintain throughput and operational readiness.
  • Build, develop, and supervise a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Drive production ramp-up activities, identify and remove bottlenecks, and support capacity planning to enable scalable growth.
  • Ensure efficient execution of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assembly processes while optimizing workstation layouts, workflows, ergonomics, and cycle times.
  • Oversee testing and validation activities, including HiPot, functional testing, subsystem validation, burn-in, and final product release, ensuring accurate documentation and rapid issue resolution.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics such as production attainment, FPY, defect rates, rework levels, throughput, and open NCRs, implementing sustainable corrective actions when required.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, standard work, waste reduction, and poka-yoke to improve productivity, quality, and manufacturing cost.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation, BOMs, SOPs, traceability requirements, test procedures, and quality standards remain accurate, controlled, and effectively deployed across operations.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising or managing manufacturing teams.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electronic, electrical, or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting production ramp-ups, NPI programs, or manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Experience at implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, such as kanban, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data management (Business Central experience is an asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, ECOs, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications.

Bonus skills

  • Experience manufacturing power electronics, energy systems, EV charging, battery systems, or other complex electromechanical products.
  • Exposure to NPI environments and rapid production scaling.
  • Experience with production testing, HiPot systems, burn-in processes, and product validation.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality management and manufacturing industrialization.

Profile

  • Hands-on leader with a strong presence on the production floor.
  • Results-driven with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Bilingual English and French.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities supported by data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to bring structure to complex situations and drive sustainable operational improvements.
  • Comfortable working in a high-growth environment where adaptability, initiative, and continuous learning are essential.
  • This position is primarily based at dcbel's NPI Manufacturing Facility located at Boulevard Dagenais Ouest, Laval. As dcbel continues to scale its manufacturing operations, the role may evolve to support activities at other facilities, including potential locations in the United States and Europe. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and be available to travel as business needs require.

What's in it for you

  • Be part of a company that is backed by numerous globally respected investors and has world-changing patents in an industry changing for the first time in history.
